Samsung rolls out next-gen Bixby in One UI 7 to compete with Apple’s Siri
Samsung has released its first major update for the AI-powered digital assistant, Bixby, in years. According to a report by SamMobile, the update introduces advanced features powered by large language models (LLMs), allowing Bixby to better understand natural language and context, and respond more intelligently to user queries.
The updated Bixby was announced alongside two new foldable devices, the W25 and W25 Flip, in China. Samsung’s enhanced Bixby can now provide weather-based clothing suggestions, like when asked, “What should I wear to work?” It can also calculate travel time based on current traffic conditions.

Bixby was already capable of handling various tasks on Galaxy devices, but with this update, it can now offer detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to perform specific actions on a Galaxy phone or tablet. The next-gen digital assistant can also intelligently identify the appropriate app or feature based on the user’s query.

A key improvement in Bixby is its web page translation feature, which allows users to export results to various Microsoft Office applications like Word and PowerPoint. These enhancements are designed to boost productivity, especially for those looking to streamline tasks across multiple apps.
The next-generation Samsung Bixby features a sleek, modern design that takes up the full screen, enabling interaction through both text and voice. Samsung has further refined Bixby’s user interface, adopting a minimalist design that utilizes the entire screen.

The revamped interface provides helpful suggestions at the top of the screen, accessible at any time, regardless of the app you’re using. Whether you need assistance translating a webpage or creating a document, Bixby is ready to help with a variety of tasks.
There is no official information yet on when Samsung will roll out the new Bixby update. However, it is expected to be released alongside the upcoming global OneUI 7 update.
